My Story
Located on farmland that has been held in my family since 1841, Dancing on Tabletops Studio will be the setting for countless creative experiences taught by artists who specialize in a variety of art forms.
My name is Cathy Daniels Rivas and the studio has been a goal of mine that will allow me to celebrate my family's ties to the land and my love for the arts. Growing up on the farm was the foundation for my life. From that beginning and at a very early age, I became an artist. My formal training began locally at the age of 10. The opportunity allowed me to pursue my growing interest in painting and I went on to receive a B.A. in Art from the University of Mount Union and a Master's degree from Morehead State University with concentrations in drawing, painting, lettering and art history. I have had the privilege of serving my community as the Elementary Art teacher for 42 years. During those years, I coordinated an adult education program providing classes for local residents and developed exchanges for our students to other districts in the area. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I have had my artwork represented in galleries throughout Ohio.
I love my time spent in the studio. Overseeing the work created by others, learning from artists who come to share their talents, and enjoying the friendships that will develop in the process--Dancing on Tabletops Studio will be a sanctuary for artists young and old, for those with experience and for those who are excited about exploring new mediums.
Come join us. The Studio awaits.
